My travels have brought me to so many beautiful places, not just since I started blogging but my whole life. Italy was one place I hadn't explored since my older brother and I spent the whole summer of 1998 in Europe. Florence was the second stop of my Italian adventure, needless to say I was blown away by its picture perfect beauty. I arrived in style by train from Roma Termini to Santa Maria Novella and went straight to The St. Regis hotel, my home while in Florence. My Renaissance style room overlooked the Arno River and made me feel like I was a princess in a fairytale. I did a bit of touristy stuff like visiting Michelangelo's David and Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge. I also stopped by Brunelleschi's Duomo, Florence Cathedral, which at first sight with its pink/white/green marble exterior looks like a sugar castle standing tall. Tip: Don't forget to climb up to the very top of the cupola. I love how much history everything there exudes, I miss that in LA. Palazzo Strozzi had a fabulous exhibit: From Kandinsky to Pollock with some incredible pieces out of Peggy Guggenheim's private collection, such as Jackson Pollock, Cy Twombly, Williem de Kooning and Mark Rothko.  My favorite restaurant was La Giostra. Three days of Fiorentine steaks and homemade pasta wasn't enough, I'm ready to go back next year.
