BEWARE OF DOGG

August 8, 2016

I have a confession: I don't get Vetements, the young Paris-based label. I take that back, I do. Mad respect to the house, I get they're doing and I appreciate their deceptively simple, beautifully cut clothes. It is versatile and modern. What I don't get is the price tag; DHL t-shirts for $330, Champion lookalike sweats for $750?! And let's face it, the clothes are not very practical either. Believe me, my brain always finds a way of justifying jaw-dropping price tags when I get back luxurious, comfortable, classic pieces that provide a lifetime of wear. There's no way of justifying those prices when all one can get is a cool "outfit of the day" photo. Speaking of classic, I've been looking for a classic vintage Snoop tee for the longest time. My birthday is coming up, and a dear friend got me this Vetements Snoop tee as an early birthday gift. I actually LOVE it so much! No one said you have to understand fashion to love it. Would I buy it myself for wait, what, $900?!? As Snoop himself reacted: “Are you serious?! Where do you buy that shirt? How do you sell a picture of Snoop Dogg on a T-shirt for $924? I wouldn’t even pay 900-something dollars for a Snoop Dogg shirt and I know the muthaf***a. Hell nah, hell nah! Nah, but that’s a good thing man, continued success to whoever sellin’ it man, hopefully one day soon y’all give me something. Break bread or fake dead, y’all know what it is!". I'm sure there's some people who don't get MISS SALINAS either. There are always gonna be people who aren't in your fan club.
