PLEATS, PLEASE

January 14, 2016

I know. I'm way late to the accordion skirt fiesta. Historically, I was never a fan of accordion skirts, they always seemed terribly unflattering and reminded me of upside down cupcake casings. Never say never. After one too many designers tuning into the same trend frequency season after season, I finally decided I needed one in my life, especially when I saw this Gucci's own version of a pleated glittery mid-lenght knit dress. Whatever Gucci says, we do. But wait, I wasn't planning on splurging on a trend I wasn't sure I was even gonna like. First things first. In my attempt of recreating the Gucci's look, I found this H&M Trend skirt.

I originally styled this for a casual holiday look, but ended up not wearing it. Instead I wore it for dinner, styled with the most important FW basic that everyone should have on their wardrobe, the sheer turtleneck. As for the shoes, there's nothing that a pair of rockstud Valentinos can't do. If the shoe fits, wear it, preferably in every color (hence, my collection keeps expanding).

In conclusion, the pleated skirt is chic, comfortable and easy to style. I'm a pleats convert.
