Karl Lagerfield once said, "You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants". Sweatpants, leggings, pretty darn close. Is wearing leggings as pants ever acceptable? Some say no, but I do wear them. I'm fully aware that leggings as pants is lazy fashion. Leggings are meant to be worn at the gym or with something to cover up the toosh when worn in the real world, right? But they're comfy and taper nicely around the lower body and they also make the legs look miles long when worn with heels, so every now and then, I throw them on and pair them with a bodysuit or tshirt and a pair of sandals. And let's face it, guys love it.
If you noticed, there are three fashion don'ts happening in this post and I still managed to create a chic sexy easy-going look! Kim K wears leggings all the time and looks amazing in them, not that I consider her a fashion hero of any sort but I do like some of her clothes. If she can get away with it with her giant butt, so can I with my not so giant one. Thanks KK!
My two basic rules for making leggings as pants wearable are: 1. The fabric must be thick and structured enough to add support in the right places. 2. Make sure you get in your weekly squats.
PS And dearest Karl, I have not lost control of my life.
