LOGO TEES

February 15, 2017

I think it's safe to say logo tees are back. Acutally, they never left, so let me re-phrase that. Logo tees are having a MAJOR fashion moment. This is one of the 90s comeback trends we can't get enough of. When wearing one of these tees, make sure to stay true to the urban street cool aesthetic and choose logo styles in oversized silhouettes.

Presented in my first look is the Gucci washed logo T-shirt of the moment, constructed from cotton with small holes in the fabric for a vintage effect. It's one of those things I just had to have, regardless of the price tag, I kept thinking 'cost per wear, cost per wear'. When I first got it on the mail, I was shocked to see that the $590 t-shirt I had just purchased was damaged. I even emailed the good people at net-a-porter.com to see if I could get an exchange, until I found out the distressed collar was a design feature lol. The Gucci logo has been updated by Alessandro Michele, drawing inspiration from vintage prints of the ’80s. I just love its irreverence. Who knew a brand merch T-shirt could be so desirable, right? I styled the Gucci logo T-shirt with Fila tracksuit bottoms to visit the Daft Punk pop-up store at the Maxfield Gallery. I posted also some of the highlights of my visit to the pop-up store. You can smarten this type of outfit with a pair of backless loafers.

For my second outfit, I wore a classic men's baggy Champion T-shirt (you can borrow one from your boyfriend's closet) with a pair of H&M high-waisted patent trousers to add a biker edge and effortless allure. The cinderella slippers add a more modern juxtaposition to the whole outfit. I wore this on my dateless Valentine's Day.

For both looks, I wore my Celine sunglasses and Hermes bag styled with a sunglasses chain and furry from Burlap 2 Cashmere.

With lots of brands making their own versions, take your cues from Gucci and embrace logo fever. Scroll to the bottom to see some of my favorite logo t-shirts to shop now.
